What sort of pen do you prefer?
When you are just starting in your home office then you will need to compile a list of what you believe are office essentials. You should give some thought to this or you could find that you buy a whole stack of biros when you really prefer to write with a fountain or cartridge pen.
You will need some heavyweight paper for special printing jobs, contracts and important letters. It is a good idea to add cheap stationery paper to your list of essential items as you will need it for writing notes and to do lists, as well as for having something that will keep the children quiet for a while.
If you do regularly write with a fountain or cartridge pen then you should add spare nibs to your list as well as replacement cartridges or a spare bottle of ink. It is a good idea to keep some biros in your office because you may have forms to fill out that can only be done in biro.
You’ll need pencils and a pencil sharpener; it is always a good idea to write in your account books in pencil just in case you need to alter something. It is much easier to rub out pencilled in figures than it is to rub out figures that have been entered in ink.
