Maximum price for the selected item is the Buyout price, and you will be able to purchase an item instantly by clicking on the Buyout button located at the AH window.

You can bid on the item as soon as you see the first price. You can bid by clicking on the Bid button which is present at the bottom of the AH window. Obviously, you can bid on an item for the cheaper price, but don’t forget that there are other players also who will do the same, and so it will be a long chase. In case a bid is taken from you that you have bidden on the amount of gold and if somebody outbids you, you are returned the same amount on your mail. On the contrary, if you succeeded in buying the item without being outbidden, then the item will be sent to you via mail as soon as the particular auction expires.

Click on the Auctions tab at the bottom of the AH window on the left side in case you want to sell an item. If you want to check the length of your Auction duration, you can place the item in the Auction item slot by filling up the Starting price as well as the Buyout price. You can put 12 hours for the short duration auction and proceed further with 24 hours for long auction and eventually 48 hours for very long duration auction. It is advisable that before making your own auction, check the prices and lower your price a bit for the same item. Up on selling the item you will get the gold on your email and the AH applies a small percentage of fee on it. Unless the item is sold, the fee will be returned to you as soon as the auction expires.
