Washing and removing stains from babies clothes

Filed under: Shopping — Guest Author @ 11:36 am

Many new parents know that new baby clothes need to be washed before they are put on baby. It’s very unlikely that your baby could be harmed by these new and unwashed clothes, skin irritation and allergies can occur. The shipping process of clothing could also put the baby clothes into contact with dirt or rodents, so you’ll want to wash each new article of clothing you buy.

Washing baby clothes doesn’t require a special detergent other than what you use to wash your own clothing. However, if you are concerned, there are many extra gentle laundry detergents which are targeted towards use on baby clothes. Your baby may also be allergic to a dye or scent a certain detergent uses, so purchasing a scent-free, dye-free detergent such as All Free could alleviate this problem. However, if your baby isn’t bothered by clothing washed in your regular detergent, there’s really no need to switch.

If you’re faced with a stain that’s just not coming out of your baby’s clothes, you can try a combination of Oxy-Clean and your favorite spray remover. Place your baby clothes in a mixture of boiling water and Oxy-Clean after you’ve pretreated the clothing with a stain remover like Shout and you should have no problem removing those tough stains.
