Magazines About Scooters And Motorcycles

Filed under: Sport — Guest Author @ 8:11 am

I have read tons of reviews about scooters and motorbikes, because I am a subscriber to a scooter and motorcycle enthusiasts’ magazine that carries articles about all the different sorts of scooters and motorcycles on the market. It also suggests the best one to acquire depending on whether you are a first time owner or a two-wheeler veteran. The magazine is great, and it helps me understand what other scooter owners think about the different models and brands of scooters.

I have to say that people’s views vary quite widely on every subject, which is why it’s probably always better to do your own research and get what best suits you, rather than getting what other people say will suit you, when they do not even know you. Having said that, many first time buyers do not honestly know what they are looking for, and it is really these people that these reviews are written for.

However, these reviews are not meant to be taken too literally, rather they are intended as a guideline so that potential greenhorn buyers have to ruminate about the aspects of buying a scooter or motorbike. It also gives experts a run down of the salient facts. Then you need to make up your own mind whether you care, for example, whether the scooter’s seat is made of leather or fabric.

All in all, I like this magazine because it takes into account people from all walks of life, and its writers and editor understand that even if you are interested in purchasing a scooter, you may not have enough money or you might be reading just out of interest in scooters or motorcycles.

We all know that money is difficult to come by these days, and consumers are becoming more and more well-informed about the goods they want, which is a good thing in my opinion. After all, there are other merchants who just desire to get the most money they can for their products and mark up their scooter prices to inflated amounts in the hope that they will get a few stupid customers that did not do their research.

And I am sure that they probably do get a few patrons like that, because they do stay in business somehow and I regularly hear awfulness stories about individuals who have paid far too much for their scooter or motorbike.

When you ask them why they did not take the trouble to read the reviews in a magazine, they usually say that they did not know about the magazines, or even worse, that they did not have enough time. Therefore it seems that they had enough time to work like a dog for the money, but then not enough time to read a short magazine review? I doubt it very much. With a bit of luck, consumers will continue becoming more and more careful about their purchases.

It is such a pity, so, If you happen to be a new scooter fan, or you know someone who is, please make sure you read the scooter and motorbike reviews before concluding a purchase. It can literally save you hundreds or even thousands of your hard earned dollars.

Do Men Pay Attention to What Other Men Wear?

Filed under: Sport — Guest Author @ 8:10 am

Men’s fashion is ever changing and with this comes the opportunity for people in the spotlight to become style icons. It has been apparent in women’s fashion for years as women would take influence from movie and pop stars. Recently though this has become the case with men too as they look to stars and bands of a similar age for tips on style.

Music is one of the biggest areas creating style icons such as boy bands like JLS for younger men and Take That for men slightly older. These bands are constantly in the spotlight through TV or through music videos and so big high street retailers aim to have them wear their latest lines. In seeing stars wear these clothes, men aspire to be similar and will dress themselves in a similar way.

Pop stars and movie stars aren’t the only ones which men take influence from though, what men wear is also affected by sportsmen. It is more acceptable for men to copy the style of sportsmen and feel comfortable in doing so due to the masculinity which surrounds sport. Clothing companies use recent sporting style icons such as David Beckham, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button to show off their new lines.

Of course in order to pick up style tips, men also take notice of what other men wear when they’re out and about. Depending on where men shop, there are a number of different styles being worn. It’s common that men’s style will spread to others when they base their style around a certain shops range.

Men have begun more recently to look at how other men dress whilst they have always paid attention to what sports stars and celebrities wear. A guy wearing a new item of clothing can create a new trend which largely affects what retailers decide to sell.

UFC 99: Rich Franklin Tops Wanderlei Silva In Thrilling Main Event

Filed under: Sport — Guest Author @ 8:12 am

From a business standpoint, the UFCs first trip to Germany will clearly fall short of their success in the UK. From poor ticket sales to a downright hostile German media, its been one headache after another for Dana White and company. That was all forgotten thanks to an entertaining if somewhat uneven fight card highlighted by a spectacular main event between Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva. Franklin would ultimately win the unanimous decision victory, but the fight itself far exceeded the expectations of most fans.

For the most part, Franklin picked Silva apart throughout the course of the fight (to quote UFC color commentator Joe Rogan) and deserved the unanimous decision verdict. What made the fight exceptional were the occasional glimpses of the old Axe Murderer. Late in the second and third rounds, Silva tagged Franklin with hard punches that left him clearly stunned.

In the co-main event, heavyweight phenom Cain Velasquez survived a few nervous moments to put in a wall to wall domination of Cheick Kongo. Velasquez was rocked by Kongos punches early in rounds one and two, but quickly recovered to take the fight to the ground where he mauled the Frenchman. The result was an impressive victory for Velasquez over a top level opponent, but his struggles against Kongos standup game left several unanswered questions. The most compelling concern, of course, is that Velesquez might have a weak chin and simply not be able to take a punch particularly well. His problems could also be tactical or simply a case of not having enough patience”rushing his takedown attempts and eating punches rather than work for a less risky opportunity.

The event also featured the UFC return of former PRIDE open weight GP champion Mirko Cro Cop. Cro Cop was making his return to action from knee surgery, and the Croatian striking machine got off to a slow start against overmatched Mostapha Al-Turk as he clearly sought to protect his rebuilt wheels. Of particular note was the fact that Cro Cop didnt throw a kick the entire fight”his bread and butter during his PRIDE dominance, which evoked the mantra right leg hospital, left leg cemetery. Once he let his hands go, however, he demonstrated emphatically that hes still got serious power. He ended the fight late in the first round by flooring Al-Turk with an overhand left followed up with some hammer fists on the ground.

Perennial contender Mike Swick looked impressive as he defeated Ben Saunders via 2nd round TKO. After an uneventful first five minutes, Swick let his hands go and his impressive handspeed proved no match for his adversary. In the opening match of the live PPV, Dan Hardy won a hard fought split decision over Marcus Davis. The two men had feuded back and forth in the UK media, and while the fight may not have settled their differences in a decisive manner it did provide a solid opener to the evenings fight card.
